EthrealMs Terms of Service (ToS)

The terms written in this thread are automatically applied to you (The User) upon creation of your account, and you verify agreement to all the terms upon creating an account here. We reserve the right to block you from any and all services for any reason, including, but not limited to, breach of any term written. These terms are not a means of user oppression, but a standard to create a fun, friendly, and fair environment to all users of any or all of our services.

Changes to this Agreement
We reserve the right to update or change any of the rules written, with reasonable notice via an announcement on the forums, but it will be YOUR responsibility to read the changes in the rules, and you are automatically subject to any changes within. Ignorance of any rule is not an excuse.

General Rules
These rules apply to all services, including the forums, chat, and the game server.

1. PG-13
Our services are operated under a PG-13 guideline, and in accordance with the vBulletin terms of service. Under this PG-13 guideline, the sharing of inappropriate material is not allowed at all, on any of our services, including areas not limited to the PG-13 guideline. This is including, but not limited to, any and all of the following :
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Drugs
-Illegal Firearms
-Illegal Hacking Tools / Programs
-Pornographic material
-Torrents/”warez”

2. Respect
Do not directly discriminate against any other members based on race, religion, sexual orientation, or age. Respect is a large topic, and is handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of our Staff. We do expect the use of common sense by all users within all of our services. If you have to ask whether or not you are violating this rule, you probably are. While we exercise that all users should have freedom of speech, excessive use of profanity is still liable to punishment, again, at the discretion of our Staff. Punishments range from a ban of 1 to 3 days, with repeated offenses resulting in more serious action taken, including a permanent ban from all services.

3. Harassment
Though tied into Rule 2, Respect, we want to make it specifically clear that this is not tolerated. This includes the use of racial or homophobic slurs, slander or libel against other users, repetitive name-calling, and deliberate hostility towards other users. Harassment is handled on a case-by-case basis by our Staff. If you attempt to ruin the experience of other users on any of our services, you should be prepared to face the consequences of your actions, ranging from 1 to 3 day bans, to a permanent block from all services. Trolling or flaming is also known as a form of harassment.

4. Advertising
Advertising another network, server, and hacking or scamming websites, is strictly forbidden. Any attempts at doing so will result in an immediate and permanent ban from all of our services.

5. Authority fraud
Users portraying (pretending to have) a position of authority. Either via (a) Impersonation of Staff, or (b) Mini-Modding.
Staff impersonation is strictly forbidden. Regardless of which service you are on, any attempt at impersonation will result in the user being blocked from all services for 7 days. To be clear; informing players of a rule and/or helping others is allowed, but lying about your being on staff is not. Claiming you can punish another user on any service falls under this. Please use the relevant report functions if you see someone breaking the rules.

6. Speaking English Publicly
All of our services are based on speaking the English language. It is the common language of most users and all Staff, so you are expected to refrain from using another language in any public formats. This includes the forums, chat, and all in-game server-wide communications. If you have difficulties in using the English language, please use a translator. This rule is in place so that the Staff can moderate all content, and help users who are in need of assistance. Non-English communications, in way of super mega phones, in-game will result in a ban from the game server of 24 hours, and will become more severe with repeated offences.

7. Profiting
You may not profit from our services in any way. All trades of items or services must involve only items or services within the network. This includes possessions on another server, service, or platform. Meaning you may not sell a Global Maplestory account for items, or vice versa. Signature and avatar shops are okay, but straight pictures are not. You may not use copyrighted materials on any of our services. You may not buy or sell the following items for real or in game currency: FM spots, maps, in game names, forum names, forum points, spots in chat. Requesting people to subscribe to your accounts that you stand to profit from on other websites or advertising referral links to other sites that you can profit from is also prohibited.

8. Ban Evasion
Ban evading is not allowed. If you have been banned, either temporarily or permanently, you are expected to abide by that and not access, or attempt to access, those services from which you are banned. Any player attempting to get around their banishment from services, whether it be chat, forums, in-game, or a combination of the three, will be banned from all services for 30 days with that account being permanently banned. This includes altering your IP and creating new accounts, having a friend login to your account for you (for which they can also be banned for bypassing), or using a different computer to access the service.

9. WZ Edits
WZ editing is forbidden. Any edits made to your .wz files will result in your account being blocked from the game. Regarding cosmetic .wz edits, they are allowed; however, on no account are .wz edits to be posted on our forums, talked about publically in chat or in game. This also includes UIs (User Interfaces). If caught, you will receive a heavy ban. Be cautious, if you download an edited .wz file, and you are auto banned for .wz editing, your ban will remain. This includes if you played another server that uses edited .wz files.
